The Waukomis Pioneer Memorial is dedicated to all the Pioneers that came before us. From the Land Run settlers to the Railroad workers. The hometown of notables like Lewis Wilkins, aka “The Giant!” the tallest man alive at the time! The famous Cecil Cornish Pro-Rodeo hall of famed trick rider who entertained all over the world! Waukomis is also right on the historic Chisholm Trail. Our own Grandpa Frederick Anderson (statue with a windmill) was one of many pioneers that helped build our town.

This mural in front of you was painted by the students of Bob Palmer, who taught art at the University of Central Oklahoma until his recent retirement. His murals are found all over the state, and Waukomis is honored to have two of them.
